It all began unexpectedly during a casual conversation with Haj. Saadatu Babaji a respected woman whose voice carries wisdom and clarity. It was our first meeting, and I remember vividly how her simple question scratched a wound I didn’t even realize was open. She asked, “Who do you consider the most preferred candidate for the governorship position in our dear Adamawa State?”
Her question sent me reflecting deeply not on personalities or promises, but on impact. I thought about the faces of men and women who have held public positions, and then my mind rested on a man I have never met: Dr. Salihu Bakari Girei.

I campaign for him not because of any personal relationship, not because I was influenced, and not because I stand to gain anything. I campaign for him because his works already campaigned for him silently, effectively, and with lasting results.
In a time when many seek leadership for fame or fortune, he stands out as a man whose name is tied to tangible achievements. His legacy through UBEC represents a vision of progress that Adamawa State desperately needs a vision built on education, empowerment, and quiet integrity.
I may have never met Salihu Bakari Girei, but I’ve met his impact in classrooms, in communities, and in the hope of countless children. And that, to me, is more powerful than any handshake or campaign slogan.
